Google Play Games recently forced all games using Google Play Sign-in into using their new user interface (UI). This occurs mostly on newer Android versions i.e. Android 9 and above. The new UI design and logic are awful, causing unnecessary delays in switching accounts between play. This is especially painful for users who have 20+ or more accounts. Accounts are no longer listed based on the sequence that are added to the device. Instead, it is based on the out-of-date last play status of each account.
Luckily, I managed to find a workaround, tested to work on 3 of my devices running Android 9, Android 10 and Android 11.
The steps below may or may not work on your device. Doing so may break some of your apps that use Google Play Services. Do it at your own risk.
Step 1 - Uninstall Google Play Services updates
Step 2 - Launch your Clash of Clans and Google Sign-in may revert to old UI.
Note: Uninstalled Google Play Services update on 3 of my devices (Android 9 , Android 10 & Android 11) seems to delay the new sign-in UI from returning to both devices. The new sign-in UI appears to require an updated version of Google Play Services.
Steps to uninstall Google Play Services update
Step 1 - Security - Device Administrator
Step 2 - Deactivate/Disable any existing app that has been authorized by Device Administrator, e.g. Find my device, launcher, antivirus etc
Step 3 - App - Google Play Services - Uninstall update
Step 4 - Reactivate/Enable apps that need Device Administrator
After uninstalling Google Play Services update, the new sign-in UI may be delayed from returning to your device.
Google Play Services version that has delay the new sign-in UI from returning are as follows:-
Android 9 - 19.6.29
Android 10 - 20.04.14 / 20.15.16
Android 11 - 21.26.21
